Conception

Developed over three months in Unity using C#, SCRAPS was a milestone project for our student team, marking our first large-scale action-adventure game. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where players take on the role of a scrapper, tasked with exploring dangerous wastelands to recover valuable relics. A core gameplay mechanic is the Gravnul, a multi-purpose tool that serves as both a traversal aid and interactive device, allowing players to manipulate objects, navigate hazardous terrain, and engage with environmental puzzles. This mechanic was designed to provide player-driven interaction, emphasizing problem-solving and adaptability. Beyond gameplay, SCRAPS was a technical learning experience, allowing the team to refine level design, environmental storytelling, and programming skills.

My role involved designing and developing an entire map section, focusing on landscape composition, environmental interactions, and integrating gameplay mechanics to create a cohesive and engaging player experience. The project reinforced collaborative development workflows, requiring efficient asset integration, organized scripting, and iterative testing to achieve a polished final product. SCRAPS was more than just a student project—it was a practical application of game design principles, preparing us for larger and more complex development challenges.
